Engr. Donald Phung is an engineering executive, entrepreneur, and aviation professional whose career combines advanced engineering education, technical leadership, project development, and executive management. As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AeroEngine, he directs the company’s long-term development, engineering priorities, major projects, partnerships, and operational strategy.
Donald developed an early interest in engineering, aviation, energy systems, and complex technology. After graduating from high school, he pursued higher education in the United States and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. He later completed graduate studies in Nuclear Engineering.
His aerospace education developed his understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, flight mechanics, materials, performance, and systems engineering. His nuclear engineering studies broadened his knowledge of energy systems, safety, risk analysis, complex technical operations, and engineering management.
Donald built his career around the practical application of engineering principles to complex projects and operational environments. His responsibilities progressed from technically focused engineering work into project coordination, strategic planning, technical evaluation, risk management, and organizational leadership.
Working with multidisciplinary professionals gave him a practical understanding of the relationship between engineering requirements, operational realities, financial considerations, safety standards, and project objectives. This combination of technical and management experience shaped his transition into entrepreneurship and executive leadership.
Aviation has remained central to Donald’s professional and personal journey. He acquired his first privately owned aircraft as an important milestone reflecting his longstanding commitment to aviation. He also pursued flight training and appropriate pilot qualifications, complementing his engineering knowledge with practical aviation-operating experience.
This perspective allows him to understand aircraft both as engineered systems and as operational assets requiring disciplined flying, maintenance, management, and safety oversight. For Donald, aviation represents precision, preparation, continuous learning, sound judgment, technological advancement, and uncompromising respect for safety.
With more than two decades of professional experience, Donald leads AeroEngine with both technical and commercial perspective. He works alongside engineers, project managers, technical specialists, business professionals, and strategic partners to identify opportunities and transform complex ideas into achievable projects.
Under his leadership, AeroEngine continues to develop capabilities across construction, infrastructure, aerospace, energy, engineering, and related technical services—with emphasis on quality, safety, innovation, professional integrity, and measurable results.
